The Coastal Development Partnership (CDP) project aims to build climate resilience among high-risk communities across five districts in Bangladesh by addressing critical gaps in governance, local capacity, and equity. This initiative is crucial because these communities currently face moderate to severe climate risks, including increasing salinity, frequent flooding, and prolonged droughts, which compound into multiple crises like food and water insecurity. The project focuses on improving the ability of local government to implement equitable, climate-resilient planning while simultaneously empowering vulnerable residents, particularly women and youth, whose participation in decision-making and preparedness is currently limited. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to move these areas from high vulnerability to a state of climate-adaptive and equitable development by enhancing local skills and strengthening local voices in global climate policy discussions to ensure effective international cooperation. We believe that systemic change is a collective process—rooted in local wisdom, strengthened by solidarity, and legitimized through justice. By aligning philosophy, practice, and policy, we transform resilience into a rights-based, future-secure reality.
